The following workshops can run as standalone, or be run together with a 6 week practice period in between.
Networking know how
Developing new business relationships is now more important than ever. While creating new opportunities and building new relationships can be exciting, many people find the process of networking daunting, uncomfortable and frustrating.
If, in your team, you recognise the reluctance to go to networking events, are concerned that you’re missing opportunities and your answer to the what do you do question is often met with a “glazed” look, this tailored workshop is ideal. Increased confidence and effectiveness is achieved through learning how to:
- read body language
- approach groups of strangers with confidence
- ensure your introduction is interesting
- naturally connect and engage attention
- end conversations gracefully and purposefully
- maximise your opportunities before during and after the event
The 3 hour hands-on session provides plenty of time to practice the concepts and conversations.

Practice Period (6 weeks) – between days one and two, you will use all your day one learning in real-life networking scenarios and record your experience. You will therefore start day two with some new relationships and confidence under your belt, for us to develop further.
Make yourself Memorable
While we spent some time working on your answer to the what do you do question on day 1, this session focuses on your description in much greater detail. Using what we know about our memory, we put the theory into practice. This ensures you’re more memorable increases your chances of referrals.
This 3 hour workshop will improve your fluency and flexibility in how you talk about what you do. By the end of the workshop, you will have:
- Tried and tested targeted messages
- Five succinct and interesting introductions that you feel confident using.
- A range of phrases that will help to increase your conversational flexibility
- A formula for telling credibility-boosting stories that prove you will make a difference.
- A memorable metaphor to illustrate your offer or positioning
- Understood how to avoid being unintentionally memorable.
This workshop can be attended by staff who are already confident when networking and who want to ensure a consistent message is being conveyed by the agency.
Delegate numbers: Due to the interactive nature of the course, 6-8 delegates is ideal, with a maximum of 12.
Course duration: 2 half days incorporating the 6 week practice period.
Added value: materials include a memory-boosting card to ensure that delegates are putting into practice what they learnt. A follow up call with each delegate is arranged a month later to check progress and answer any further questions.
